Sinclair's
Oyster Bar Manchester - reader comments
|
| "For
drinks the place is fantastic, good prices and great
atmosphere. I wouldn't go there for a 'full' meal, and the
staff aren't particularly friendly but hardly rude either.
The toilets however are disgusting and I
don't think they're maintained throughout the evening and
are in need of improving"

"Last
Sunday a few friends and I went for dinner at Sinclair's Oyster
Bar, unfortunately we did not have a very enjoyable
meal, Most of the dishes were off the menu
due to the fact they had no potatoes left, which we thought
was quite amusing as they are the basis of most meals really,
especially sunday lunch! And there are plenty of shops in
the area, it's really quite an easy task to go get some more
and they don't take that long to cook.
The staff were unfriendly and unhelpful,
when the food did arrive it was cold and dry, it was as if
it had been ready for some time but the staff were chatting
in a corner and couldn't be bothered to bring it to our table,
it came at different times and one of our friends had to go
down the stairs and bring up her own cold meal. No staff came
to clear our table of the plates or glasses (nor anyone elses
for that matter) We also did that ourselves. The toilets
were also unclean and half of them were out of order.
I can understand bars can get really busy and that staff are
under pressure, but it was not that busy when we were there.
The only conclusion I can come to after this experience, is
that the staff are either new and not fully trained or they
are just quite rude. We have dined at Sinclair's Oyster Bar
in the past, which have been pleasant experiences, and it's
a shame this one wasn't!"

"I
went here for lunch with 2 German friends who I hoped to impress
with traditional English food. We asked at the bar to get
a table and were bluntly told to sit anywhere. We went upstairs
and sat and waited for ages until I finally
gave up and went back downstairs to place the order. The waitress
was not very nice at all and told me that I needed to order
the drinks seperately at the bar - not very good
when the bar is full of drunken football fans. I then struggled
to walk back upstairs with the 3 drinks. Then we sat upstairs
for quite some time until our order came. My salad
was very good, however my friends' sandwiches
weren't that great. I don't think I'll be visiting
this place again for food!"
